Soaring Imagination

All it took was a piece of black cloth and some duct tape.

Welcome to the family, Batman.

Thank you for rescuing me countless times from my Mommy chores.

Emptying the dishwasher can wait.

Folding the laundry can wait.

I understand that Mickey Mouse needs to be rescued from the tippy-top of the couch cushions.

What? The Joker hid Green Lantern under the kitchen table again?

Thank you for bringing me into your world of play.

I sometimes forget that I’m allowed to play, too.

I love that you shout, “Come here, Robin!” from across the grocery aisle. Would it be all right with you if I am Batgirl next time? She’s pretty cool.

And, my sweet Batman, when I reprimanded you for running on the busy-with-big-kids playground the other day, I secretly loved that you responded with a defiant, “I not running! I flying!”

I embrace your imagination.

Just remember, you are not allowed to jump from couches or wobbly kitchen chairs. Even superheroes get time-outs.

The Batman that didn't need duct tape WAS pretty awesome, but I think he would have traded his batmobile for the mom your Batman has got. Without thinking twice.
