Newport Ridge Community Park is an open space dedicated solely to Newport Ridge Community Association homeowners. It’s not gated, but it’s very clear the public is not welcome with signs sprouting from the top of the playground, the picnic area and the entrance to the parking lot.
I include it here because there are probably some Newport Ridge residents out there looking for play opportunities. I also wanted to spare some family out there with the disappointment of arriving just to tell the kids it’s a “Private Park” and they can’t play today.
Highlights for Residents:
- 2 play structures to accommodate all ages
- Sand and recycled rubber play surface
- Resident only access to restrooms
- 2 basketball courts
- Lovely half-circle picnic area with grills
- Great walking path with benches for taking in the views
- Tennis courts
- Baseball diamonds
- Nearby Newport Coast Community Center is adjacent to the park at the corner of Newport Coast Drive and San Joaquin Hills Drive. Programs are open to residents and non-residents. Non-residents are charged a $5-$10 non-refundable fee. Click here for a listing of classes.
